Michele Ann Rath, 51, of North Vernon passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at her residence.

Born December 28, 1963 in San Diego, California, Mrs. Rath was the daughter of Richard Raffel and Ruth King Fuchs. She married Michael Rath on April 3, 1993 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee; he preceded her in death on August 20, 2013.

Mrs. Rath was the office manager and accountant for H&L Tree Trimming in North Vernon for 12 years and had previously owned Rath C.P.A. in Rushville. She was a 1982 graduate of Parkway West High School in Chesterfield, Missouri and a 1986 graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Accounting. She attended Zion Baptist Church. Her enjoyment’s were doing taxes, working, watching baseball and was a St. Louis Cardinal’s fan.

Survivors include two sons, Adam (Tacy) Rath of Rushville, Austin (Paige) Rath of West Lafayette; one daughter, Mellissa Rath of Speedway; her father, Richard (Sandi) Raffel and her Mother, Ruth (Leo Cordia) Fuchs both of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Karen (Dave) Nicholson of Shelbyville, Kentucky; her niece, Dylan Nicholson of Shelbyville, Kentucky and her nephew, Ethan Nicholson of San Diego, California. She was preceded in death by her husband.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Richard Burcham officiating. Family and Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015 in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
